Heavy cotton quilt girth with detachable Platinum quality lambskin cover.

The crescent girth has been specially designed for horses that have round bodies starting immediately behind the elbow. 

Using traditional straight girths on this type of horse can cause the saddle to sit too far foward.  This is becuase the girth will naturally tend to sit in the deepest place at the elbow, pulling the saddle forward over the withers.

The cresent girth is shaped so that the end parts of the girth can sit in the deepest place at the elbow, while the centre of the girth sits further back, in the correct place on the sternum - thus holding the saddle in its correct central position.

The crescent girth is the same general style as the straight asymmetric lambskin girth which is extremely cut back in the elbow part.

Base quilt girths and lambskin covers can also be purchased separately - please enquire.

Important: The distance between saddle flap & girth edge shouldn't exceed 4 finger widths, so the cut back part of the girth is in area of the elbow action. For small horses, with a very short distance between saddle flap & elbow use the Special Short Girth for narrow built horses.
