True innovation in stirrup iron design from the United States from MDC Corporation.  MDC Intelligent Stirrups have a swivel top combined with either flexi or regular sides.

The swivel top has 3 positions: traditional, 45 degrees, or 90 degrees. The angled position relieves pressure on ankles and knees, and also makes it easier to retrieve lost stirrups.  Importantly, with a more correct angle your foot will tend to stay in the same position across the stirrup pad more easily.  Stirrup leathers also lay flatter under your leg.
